G470 loud buzzing noise from the inside of the laptop

2013-12-13, 2:58 AM

I'm not sure what the loud buzzing sound is but every time I run something: open up a game, a program, internet, or anything heavy my computer would buzz really loud.

i sometimes hit my laptop on the left of the touchpad and the nosie would stop for 20min then it would return.

What might be wrong with my laptop let me know.

Hi Nightdash,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I’m sorry to hear that your G470 Laptop is generating loud buzzing noise when the programs are opened and while playing games, I suggest you to install the Update Bios, Video drivers & Audio drivers for the computer. Below is the link to download the exact drivers:

Hope this helps!!!

Do post us back if the issue persists.

Best Regards

Shiva Kumar

There is NOTHING to do with BIOS update as suggested by shiv_k. in your situtation the problem could be two things

1)your laptop is overheating please make sure you work with  your laptop on flat surface...

Make sure to clean the dust inside the cpu fan you can remove dust from lenovo power management software you can download it from here http://http://support.lenovo.com/en_IN/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?DocID=HT072739 and there will be option for dust cleaning please do it!!!

this should fix your issue

2)second concern is it could be bad hard drive that making heavy noise hard drive is about fail please do back up!!! you can check it by using lenovo  solution center  it is Diagnostic software you can get it from here http://http://support.lenovo.com/en_IN/product-and-parts/detail.page?&DocID=PD022501

good luck!!!!
