Got a problem with clean installation of Windows 8.1 on my G30-50. First, my HDD has permanenly gone down, then I tried to recover only Recovery Partition. No luck. I got Recovery Image from another G30-50 and applied on new HDD using ImageX. As I expected there was a problem with hardware - I got bluescreen on Windows boot. So I tried install from Recovery Solution Tool, but it has freezed on language choose. I decided to download a clean copy of Windows8. I found an iso on the internet. I've burned a DVD and boot from DVD Drive. NO LUCK - It got stucked on language choose,bacause start screen has freezed. No action at mouse clicking or keyboard arrows. Next, I downloaded a clean ISO of Windows 8.1 from official Microsoft site and again ... Burn and boot from DVD. Again freeze on start screen with language choose. I've changed RAM modules, then tried removing HDD and boot without hard disk. Still no luck.

Got asked on Microsoft Community, what to do with. They advice me to download again an ISO image or upgrade BIOS, but I have no experience with BIOS upgrades. Can you give me any instructions how to do BIOS upgrade or find a solution to my problem ?  (sorry for my broken language - my english is not such fluent as I wish to be).

Welcome to the community, good to have you here. 

Can you try these steps from this thread. You may need to change the BIOS settings in order to re-install from USB/disc. If the issue persist try getting a copy of the system recovery image from Lenovo Warranty Support in your region.
