Hello, currently I own a Lenovo G50-45 Laptop with Windows 8.1 and I am looking to see if I can upgrade the upgrade the Processor and RAM. Currently in the system is the AMD A8 6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics and 6 GB of RAM and I'd like to upgrade the RAM to 8 GB and the Processor to something with much higher performance. Thank you!

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
The Processor this unit is Embedded to the motherboard and can't be replaced or upgraded.
Your Processor AMD A8 6410 APU is part of the Beema Architecture which supports 16GB RAM
YES you can upgrade up to 8GB DDR3L 1600
This system can take up to 16GB MAX by using 2x 8GB Module

I have the same question as you "lewdigital" - need to upgrade my daughters machine which is G50-45 with AMD E1-6010 APU WITH AMD RADEON R2 - Is this processor upgradable, or do I have to change the entire motherboard?

Seeing that you have answered his question I must ask a question concerning the same modle and specs laptop
What is the max amount of ram that I can add to my laptop without adding the virtual ram to the limit
I am currently looking to add ram to make my laptop better for gaming. If possible can you tell me what i can do to make it any better/faster for gaming esspecially for online gaming.
Please keep in mind that i have updated to windows 10

Don't you mean 'Soldered' rather than 'Embedded'? 'Embedded' has to do with the architecture of the processor from what I've read. And I read somewhere that Lenovo is one of the manufacturers that solders their processors to the board.
Since the processor is soldered to the board, can it be upgraded? And, does it have to be in the same family(A6 to A6 or A8 to A8) or can it be up upgraded to another family(A6 to A8 or A8 to A10)?
Perhaps someone with Lenovo can answer this?
