G500 Correct graphics driver installation procedure?

2016-11-18, 2:55 AM

I have a G500 type 20236 running Windows 10 with Intel HD 4000 and AMD switchable discrete graphics

The laptop kept getting stuck when going into sleep mode so I decided I would try reinstalling the graphics drivers.

I installed the Intel drivers from the Lenovo support site, then cleaned the AMD drivers using the amd clean utility and reinstalled those also from the lenovo support site, but every time I install the AMD drivers the intel drivers break, and also the AMD drivers too stop working with an error message on boot up saying drivers missing. I can get the intel adapter to install fine on its own and it works, but as soon as I install the AMD driver it all stops working.

What is the correct procedure to install these drivers, since there are 2 display adapters, is there a special way to do this?

EDIT: Also i noticed my mute / volume buttons are no longer working, is that related to this issue? I can't find any hotkey drivers listed on the support page.

Yes.  User Spidey101 offered a nice post, which I will find in the morning.

I think it is go to device manager, and unstack(uninstall all drivers) AMD/Intel graphics drivers, then start over.
