I was just checking for the latest bios version for the G5oo.
My current version is showing 78CN25WW (V2.03)
I tried to check on the lenovo website but as it is rubbish,i made no progress. When i navigate through to support section it just returns a server error.
Presumably lenovo are too busy promoting their new lines rather than looking after exisiting customers who are struggling to keep their past naff products running

Sorry for the inconvenience you had experienced. More than likely they were performing maintenance in the background which resulted in the error you were receiving.
Anyways, it is working fine today. Unfortunately the BIOS version available for download is the same version you have installed. Here is a link to your BIOS download for your reference.....

Hi,,yes i agree.
I like to think i am quite well practiced in hardware/software and i bought the laptop a couple of years ago because i beleived lenovo was a good brand.
The issues i have endured over the period of ownership seem to be also endured by other G500 owners.
I have managed to address some of them and investigate others.
I shall persevere..i am just surprised that a product is sold which is seeminlgy so problematic.
