I want to fix this issue myself.
any comprehensible guidance on how to reprogram or to replace the damaged chip? (tools, probes, connectors, etc..)
It takes quite a bit more tooling (Professional Solder Station, Solder Removal Station, SMD removal tools, and SMD solder oven) and a clean environment to make it happen. Also - chasing down the right chip without a schematic can be very difficult, even if you have some advanced tools such as a high quality VOM, and an Oscilloscope that can handle tight tolerances.
With the advent of smaller SMD chips, tight trace lines and oven flow soldering it makes it very difficult to do component level repairs to electronic devices. Not impossible but expensive and time consuming.
