(G500s) Volume and Brightness hotkeys not functioning under Windows 7

Hi all,

I recently downgraded my G500s from Windows 8 to Windows 7, and I've yet to find a Windows 7 compatible "Lenovo Power Management" driver (main problem is non-functional brightness control hotkeys - though volume control hotkeys are also non-functional)

A yellow exclamation marked "Unknown device" appears under Device Manager, with Id's "ACPI\VPC2004" and "*VPC2004". I've tried multiple versions of the Lenovo Power Management driver, and while they do make the device manager exclamation mark disappear, none seem to restore these hotkeys functions.

Any help would be greatly apprectiated!

Re: (G500s) Volume and Brightness hotkeys not functioning under Windows 7

hi rainbowtrout,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Can you try Uninstalling the old Energy Management first if any.

Then try this Version and see if that will work,

 Lenovo Energy Management

Try the Hotkey for Brightness and Sound if they will work after this.

Hope this helps

Cheers!
