I am using lenovo Y510P, and lately my battery charges till 60% too and it stops. It says, plugged in, not charging.

But I've been using it since start a year ago there aren't any issue over such thing only lately about couple of days ago I realizes that the battery is not charging when it reaches 60%. Please do kindly help.

Thank you.

Dear Firdaus,

Thank you for your e-mail, which appears to have been the most helpful out of all those I have read.

I followed all the steps, but when I get to clicking on "Enable Lenovo Energy Magagement" (one of the two options under "Power Options"), there are no other pop up windows, and it doesn't allow me to click on "apply".

I tried unplugging the battery charger and plugging it back in, and now it says: "59% available (plugged in, not charging)", whereas it previously said "60% available (plugged in, not charging)".

I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing the same problem... The laptop is also only a few months old and I have only been using it for basic document processing.

I would really appreciate it if you could please give me some advice on what to do?

Thanks and regards,

Eric Palmer

I have a similar problem and it started as soon as I installed Windows 10. How do I solve it?

FOR WIN 10 USERS:

I've been fiddling around trying to solve this issue on my G500 as well. The problem was that since I upgraded to Windows 10 I did not have Lenovo Energy Management options that are mentioned in all the solutions I found online. The driver does exist for win10 but it does not give the option to change battery charging settings. Solution: download the 8.1 version of Lenovo Energy Management, Restart and VOILA!

the battery started charging above 60 magically upon restart.

If anyone from Lenovo is reading this, I think it would be a good Idea to fix this since it seems to be a long term issue (at least 3 years and 3 Windows versions old from what I can see in the forums). Keep up the good work!

don't know if you found the solution already but since I'm also a Win10 user and just did find it here you go:

If it is windows 10 than download lenovo settings from app store and lenovo power manager from google and than open the lenovo settings app and  click on battery icon (remember your charger should be plugged in). Than you will see conservation mode turn that off it will fix.I have attached the screen shot for a better picture.

Re: G50-80 Battery stops charging at 60% with windows 10 system in it

Welcome to the Lenovo Community Ramk1994 !

For Windows 10, the setting of the battery Threshold or Conservation Mode is now handled by the Lenovo Settings app which is available from the Windows Store.  Once the Threshold or Conservation Mode is disabled the battery will charge to 100%.

I assume by the phrase "do not get any lenovo power management option" you mean that there is no Conservation Mode option in the Lenovo Settings app.  If that is correct and you have upgraded to Windows 10 then make sure you have installed the Windows 10 Chipset driver which can be found here......

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/g50-80/downloads/DS118292

Once installed, reboot your computer and install the Energy Manager / Flight Mode driver which can be found here......

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/g50-80/downloads/DS103640

Also install the ACPI driver at the link below.  This driver may or may not be updated if there is a current version of this driver already on your system.

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/g50-80/downloads/DS105474

After installing then reboot your computer and then check Lenovo Settings to see if there is a Conservation Mode now.
