Hi i have a lenovo g510 laptop with IntelCore i3-4000M CPU 2.4GHz processor. I wanted to know whether I could upgrade the cpu to an i5 and i wanted to know whether my motherboard will support it..??!! kindly update...!!

I am using a lenovo G510 laptop with i3-4000M CPU 2.4GHz processor. I wanted to know whether I could upgrade the cpu to an i7-4610M. Will this be supported by my motherboard.
I saw some article in google that it will support but wanted to confirm with the experts before I bought the processor. Please help....!!

Upgrade to i7-4610M is not included on the whitelisted CPU for the machine.
It may have the same socket and with same characteristics but we cannot guarantee functionality.
i7-4700MQ is listed as compatible CPU and confirmed by fellow members of smooth upgrade.
