Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Just to verify, do you have any external peripherals connected to the PC (eg. USB Flashdrive, 3TB external drive, etc.)?
If you have external drives connected to the PC, can you temporarily disconnect them and ensure that the HDD is set as the first boot device in the BIOS and observe.
If you don't have any external device connected to the machine, I would consider running a hardware scan on the PC as soon as you're able to boot up into Windows.
Check this link (see Quick Tests):
If you get any error(s) on the test(s), you may need to contact lenovo and report the issue as you may need to send the unit for service.

I have the very same issue.
I turn off the laptop completly, and start it up, Lenovo screen appears and stucks there. I press CTRL+ALT+DEL once and it boots to windows (7, 64bit).
Here's a detailed description what I did and what I tried:
Replaced the stock 500GB HDD with Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB SSD.
I replaced the DVD rom with an HDD. The mount is ICY BOX AC642. Put the Stock HDD there.
-Almost all kinds of BIOS configs, Legacy boot first/UEFI Boot first, diabled LAN boot, USB boot...etc
-Removed the OEM partiton from the 500GB, thinking that might cause the issue.
-Updated BIOS 3.09
-Load bios defaults, nothing helps...
Please give me some advice as its really frustrating...

thx for your reply!
I also have the Samsung Evo 840 250GB
so I think there is a problem with the integration of Lenovo with the Samsung Evo 840
I think we need to report about the problem to lenove support and mybe they can update the bios with a fix...

Let me start with: Bad News...
So I made a huge trial and error, and find no solution...
Here's the deal:
SSD in main position+Stock HDD in the DVD slot
-Formatted SSD and legacy formated drive+ install of Win7+ all kinds of BIOS Setup- NOT WIRKING
SSD in main position + stock HDD in the DVD slot
-Formatted SSD and used UEFI formated drive+ install of Win7+all kinds of BIOS Setup - NOT WORKING
stock HDD in main position + SSD in the DVD slot
-Formatted SSD and used UEFI formated drive+ install of Win7+all kinds of BIOS Setup
BIOS recognize the SSD drive, but windows install wont give it in the list, even though I formatted the drive, removed the partitions...etc.
obviously- NOT WORKING
SSD in main position+ DVD ROM
-Formatted SSD and used UEFI formated drive+ install of Win7 - WORKING FINE
SSD in main position+ DVD ROM
-Formatted SSD and used legacy formated drive+ install of Win7 - WORKING FINE
The only solution I could come up with is to take the 120GB SSD + mounting rack back to the seller and changed the SSD drive to a Samsung 250 GB 840EVO (Company laptop so thats enough for me), put the DVD back to its place and use the 500 GB stock as external USB 3.0 drive
Hope I could help...
