G510 very long boot time black screen, problem with BIOS update

Hi, I have problem with my laptop. the problem is that quite long time to start to windows 8.1.

When I push power button, black screen stays for 1-15 minutes and then starts normally (appear lenovo logo then windows start). For this moment i tried:
-reinstall windows- nothing happend
-power on/off with/without battery-the same as above
-detach this little battery to reset bios- nothing
-change ram stick

The last thing I tried was update BIOS. Downloaded the latest version (3.09) of BIOS. In windows restarted and failture (invalid firmware image) . I know that i should disable Secure Boot- done (BIOS says that is disabled) and the same message. I tried download 6 times and all failture. Tried disable UEFI but still the same message.
I have BIOS ver. 3.05

From time to time I think that could be graphic card but in this case laptop screen should be still black

Re: G510 very long boot time black screen, problem with BIOS update

Hi there, Pasikov         -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today

Check if the hard drive is attached firmly to the connector.

Also, run a few tests from this link -

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/lenovodiagnosticsolutions/tools

You should try Storage test, memory test, motherboard test, CPU test. Open Command prompt and try sfc /scannow to check if your windows files are corrupted.

Update us how it goes.

Re: G510 very long boot time black screen, problem with BIOS update

Shashi,
Hard drive checked, no problem, zero bad sectors replacing drive- nothing helped

Run all tests- everything passed
sfc- no problem

is there any chance to get older bios version (3.08 or sth) the last thing to checked is updating bios but as i said- 3.09 version give me "invalid firmware image" (disable secure boot, change uefi/mbr nothing)

Re: G510 very long boot time black screen, problem with BIOS update

Could you try to re-download the BIOS file and try again? The update you downloaded could be corrupted.

However, Apparently BIOS upgrade works only with UEFI boot mode with GPT style partitions. May be your laptop will be set to Legacy with MBR. Convert and upgrade.

Update us how it goes.
