Re: G530-4446-24U takes FOREVER to POST after BIOS update

Working on a friend's 4446-23U.

Win 7 64 bit., and takes forever to POST...

*edit* The contrast buttons work, however, the wireless switch (Fn-F5) does *NOT* work.

No Problem - i.e. you can turn your wireless on/off with the Fn-F5 key combo?

Hi Cleo,

G530-4446-36U here as you know, and I think you heard enough from me on the 1.15 side of the issues ;).

Best,

These Work:

Fn-Esc  Mute

Fn-F1  Volume Up

Fn-F2  Volume Down

Fn-F4  Sleep

Fn-F7 Shift to other display

Fn-F12 Hibernate

These Do Not Work:

Fn-F5 Wireless On/Off

Fn-F10 Screen Darker

Fn-F11 Screen Brighter

It still amazes me to see NOBODY FROM LENOVO even bothers to comment... let alone provide some guidance as to when LENOVO will be updating the G530 4446 series BIOS.  I've been participating in many of these G530 threads relating to screen brightness... general W7 issues.  Yet, this seems to be a place to vent frustrations from users and little more.

Lenovo, please live up to your 'old' repustion of caring for your customers... say something about this!

... reference the comment about sending emails...

... first, to whom?  second, why?  third, if they see the notes here, they already have our email address via the forum.

This forum thread clearly shows there's more than a handful of users... for that matter 'anyone' with a G530 and W7 needs the BIOS update.

So, they should post the update correctly as a current download--at the support site. (the correct site for G530)

And, a decent support group would respond "here" that they've got a working download.  That has yet to be done in almost 4 months. QED.
