G530 won't start

2010-08-04, 0:26 AM

I have a G530 4446 24U, my problem is that won't load, when you power it on it goes to a screen which just has Lenovo on it with Intel showing in the upper right hand corner, will not load Windows, checked the hard drive even put a new one in, no change. Have tried just about every thing I can think of still no luck, hopefully some one might have a solution any help will be appreciated.  Thanks

I want to thank everyone for your help, I took the computer to the shop, turns out it has a bad motherboard, just my luck, 4 months out of warranty.  For the price they want for a new motherboard, I'm just going to buy a new laptop, 320 bucks is a little to much, for a little more I can get a new one, only this time not a Lenovo.

Again thanks to all

Please post the things you have tried to avoid repetition

But, yeah the hard drive would have been first on my list
Can you get into the bios setup? F2 key at Lenovo screen.

  1. Disconnect AC power adapter and take out the battery.
  2. Remove hard disk.
  3. Put back your battery.
  4. Power on your laptop.

By default, the EFI will not detect the hardisk, so it will try to boot from another device (for example, dvdrw or ethernet).

Try and say :)

Not always. Can be a booloader problem. Which OS do you have installed?
