available bios update for g550, flashing bios may help you.

( xp and 32 bit windows - 64 bit windows )

try to update/re-install power management or touchpad drivers from here

G550(Couple of Questions)

2010-03-23, 20:27 PM

Hi!

I bought a Lenovo G550G notebook 3 weeks ago. I like it, but last week when i tried to turn it on, a message came up and I heard 2 short 'beep'. After pressing F1, boot process was continuing. Today that message came up again. Anyway the notebook works great, so i'm surprised :O  This is the message:

Phoneix Secure Core (tm) NB
Copyright 1985-2007 Phoenix Technologies Ltd

KIWA7 BIOS Version 18CN42 WW (V2 51)
Keyboard BIOS: 18EC 34W (V2 51)
CPU=1 Processors Detected,cores per Processor=2

Pentium Dual Core CPU T4300
3050KB L2 Cache
System BIOS shadowed
Video BIOS shadowed
Fixed Disk 0: ST9320325AS
ATAPI CD-ROM: TSST corp CDDVDW TS-L633B
Mouse initialized
TO2F0: CPUID: 01Failed <-----what does it mean???????
Press F1 to resume    ||        F2 to Setup

I would be very happy if somebody could tell something about it because I cannot find anything elsewhere.

Thanks!

Bios settings on default;

First I installed Win 7 32 bit OS, then I had flashed the newest Bios version (2.51) because of the fan problem.

I see this error message only once a week, it is so mysterious :smileyindifferent: I worry a little about it.

By the way I love this notebook, usually playing games, rendering videos and little animations with no problem, no freeze or blue screen, works great.
