I have a Lenovo G560 with Windows 7 (64 bit) and I want to add a 64GB SDXC memory stick. The internal reader says SD is OK, but do I need a driver or a firmware update to make the SDXC card work? I don't want to buy the card until I know it will work. Please advise!

i'm not sure if g560 supports so i'll try to find an answer for you.
( your system has to support sdxc cards. )
according to the this manual ( page 5/13 ), g560-0679 supports secure digital card. ( still, not sure )

just checking to see if anyone has new information on this question. I know my laptop supports SD cards because i have read the manual and i see the slot on the front of the computer. I want to know if there is any driver or requirement to make an SDXC card work in this SD slot before i buy the card. Sorry if i wasnt clear in my previous post. Anyone's help will do! Thanks!

The card slot has to be compliant to SD Physical Layer and File system 3.00 version specs.
It does not appear that the slot in the G560 is.
SDXC is backwards compatible to the other SD formats but the SD slot is not upwards compatible to SDXC.
The patch that you mentioned is for compatible machines to be able to read memory cards over 32 Gb.
