Hiya, we recently purchased a box at a garage sale being run by the widow of a guy who repairs computers. Inside were all the working parts to a Lenovo G560 with exception to it's motherboard that was damaged by water. I am not really familiar with Lenovo computers so I have to ask.
In this model, is it possible to replace the damaged motherboard, which did not have the discrete nvidia chip soldered into it, with the verison of the motherboard that does have the discrete nvidia gpu? Also contained in the box were both styles of heat sinks for each type of motherboard so we were thinking maybe that was the plan anyway. My kiddo likes to tinker with computers and I'm happy to let her put it all together but I want to verify that it is even possible before I go out and buy the replacement motherboard (and new chips/upgraded power supply etc if needed). I don't mind spending a little bit given we only paid 5 USD for the box, I just want to make sure I buy the right thing.
