G580 (20150) - SSD performance

Hi everyone,

I have Lenovo G580 (model 20150) and I bought new SSD Kingston HyperX Fury - 500MB Read/Write.
I have done some benchmark tests and I have very slow Write speeds. AHCI mode enabled and SSD is connected to SATA III port. If anyone know what can be a problem, please write here.
Btw Windows 10 clean installed on laptop, latest official ISO with Anniversary update included. Thanks!

Other laptop specs:

i7-3610QM

8GB RAM

You are seeing what is considered good transfer rates for SSD drives connected to the SATA bus, as a single drive, not attached to a RAID controller. The nuts and bolts of it; Intel's SATA controller is designed for use with older hard disk drives and not SSD hardware.  This means that a good SSD will max out the SATA bus, easily reaching it's saturation point.

To get the most out of a SSD drive you would need to take advantage of a system designed with M2 slot, and then drop in a PCIe X4 3.0 card.  The system BIOS needs to be tweaked for this, and not linking it thru SATA controllers.

Cheers

Re: G580 (20150) - SSD performance

It is all okay with Laptop and SSD. This is actual speed of Kingston HyperX Fury SSD with this type of test (default uncompressed data test in CrystalDiskMark). I tried Samsung 850EVO from my pc in my laptop and speeds are great, 550MB/s for Read and Write! Thank you guys!
