I purchased my new Lenovo G580 less than 1 year ago and over this time it has got slower and slower and seems to picked up a number of viruses. I am no expert so took it into our IT guy at work and he has reccomended a factory reset.
I dont think i received a disc with my laptop, could someone please advise how i should go about completing a factory reset and if windows will be automatically installed.
Any advice on keeping the laptop clean would be much appretiated too.
thanks in advance

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
About a Lenovo Factory Reset.
You just Turn it off and Press this button
This will boot your system with option for Recovery.
just follow the prompts and you good to go.
Just remember that this will Delete everything on the current OS and rebuild a new one (Dataloss)
About Keeping the system Clean. For me....
CCleaner will help you Remove all unnecessary files on the system.
And a good Antivirus Would really help keeping the system from Viruses.
Hope this helps

If you'll Back up your documents to an external storage.
Make sure you have a stable Antivirus when you put things back to the computer again.
just to make sure no files that were backed up carried the virus or such.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community Evan1234 !
Before you press the NOVO button make sure Windows is completely shut down.... hold shift key and then select Shut Down from menu.

Yep, it was completely shut down when I pressed the OneKey recovery button. I already had gone to the the menu that displays when you shut down and hold the shift key. From there, I did an auto repair. No change. I also performed the following tasks. No change occurred after doing them.
- Held F8 during bootup - the computer beeped long and several times
- Rapidly pressed F8 during bootup - the computer beeped four times and sometimes more

Apart from the C drive and D drive where some driver files are placed, i created 2 more drives on my own to store my personal data. Now if i chose the one key reset button, will it erase everything from the C drive only or will it erase the data from other partitions as well??
