I had purchased G580 (win 8) some months back from US and it is working well and good , i hope 1 yr warranty had end on 12th Nov 2013 this month
Ten days back while working suddenly i got a message in right left bottom display as ( head phone jack pluged in ) but at that time no phones connected in ,
next day when i try to play some audio songs , there is no out put from my internal speaker , but every thing is ok , so connect the head phone , it is working fine .
Thing is , when we insert the head phone a message is displaying as ( HEAD PHONE JACK UNPLUGED )
and if we remove the hp from jack it is reflecting as ( HEAD PHONE JACK PLUGED IN )
Which is some thing vise versa
i suspect the problem with head phone jack
kindly confirm the problem and i will be thank full if you support me to solve this issue , and please let me know wher shoud i contact for service support in CHENNAI - Tamil Nadu - INDIA

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that the audio is not working through internal speakers in your G580 Laptop, I suggest you to perform System restore in the computer, below are the links to perform System restore in Windows 7 & Windows 8.
Hope this helps!!!
Do post us back if the issue still persists.

Had this problem today; easy fix but not very intuitive...
(this might help other people that get here)
1. Make sure the system sound is at 100%
2. plug the headphones in (they should work as expected)
3. reduce the system sound to 0% using (Fn + Left Arrow) while the headphones are plugged in
4. take the headphones out
5. increase the system sound to 100% using (Fn + Right Arrow)
You should have sound on your speakers now...
Please note that you can basically do the same thing to make your laptop have sound only on the headphones... pretty weird behaviour if you ask me.

I’m glad to hear that the issue is resolved after re-connecting internal connecting strip. Please feel free to post in Lenovo Community Forums if you have any further queries!
