Re: G580 XP wireless

Hello Yuno44907

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Try to download the WiFi and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.

Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Using google to look up the "unknown" hardware you listed it pointed to the Atheros powered LiteON wifi card.  Use the information that has been highlightd blue to download the correct driver.

If you "hacked" together a file, and did not know what you were doing it would be the source of the blue screen, not a problem with the correct driver.

My advice - download the right driver to match the hardware in your computer.  Also look into "legal" coding, and pick up some classes on it.  Much more helpful to learn the correct way to code, then try creating drivers based on knowledge gained rather than guesswork.

Good luck.

Re: G580 XP wireless

I got too many viruses; free version of Driver Booster can be containing viruses

AR9285 is the driver. XP thinks it is wrong. You have to install it manually by choosing lowest option and finding software if you are not deleted from list. First install driver than choose which driver you want to use manually. You can use Driver Booster but it installs wrong wireless driver and when you connect you get blue screen also power saver must be downloaded from lenovo website.

While installing bluetooth be very careful. You can get worst bluescreen. If this happens push Lenovo recovery button choose run CD and reinstall windows. Its better if you dont install bluetooth or use Driver Booster.
