After entering the initial request for password (successfully), the keyboard is non-functional. With the exception of the windows scroll key, no other keys work. Logic suggests that this is a driver problem. The question is which driver? Any other ideas?
BTW, looking at the driver manager, it says that the keyboard driver is a standard PS2 keyboard from Microsoft, dated 6/21/2006, version 6.2.9200.16548. Can this be?

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
If the keyboard works fine on the windows login screen, it's probably the Filter keys that's causing your issue not the keyboard driver. Filter keys ignore or slow down brief or repeated keystrokes and adjust keyboard repeat rates. To see if Filter keys is turned ON, check the notification area for Filter Keys:
To turn off Filter Keys, navigate to Control Panel > Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center > Make the keyboard easier to use > uncheck Turn on Filter Keys then hit apply.
Your keyboard should now work,

neokenchi, thank you very much, it worked just as you stated. There was also another option which allowed the key filter to be set when the right shift key is held down for 8 seconds...I turned that off as well.
Have a good day and thanks again.

Hi all you experts,
Got same problem, but I am not in a position to solve it since I am not able to log in to win 8 without keyboard.
I have tried to add a USB keyboard, but no communication either.
I hav also problem with the touchpad that do not respond, but here a USB mouse solves the problem so far.
I do not think that it is a mechaniaal problem, since it is possible to press F2 during start up.
Any good suggestions?
Thx in advance
