I recent bought a G70, wiped Windows 8 and installed Window 7 64bit Ultimate.
Tried installing WLAN drivers from Lenovo site, and the installer pops up and gives me a "No appropriate driver to be installed" error.
PCI ID on the Network adaptor:
Indicates that I have a Qualcomm Atheros AR9285.
Installing the Atheros drivers directly from the Lenovo driver package has no effect. Looking for drivers specifically for this device elsewhere hasn't yielded me anything. I am on a wired LAN until I get this figured out, which (see other post) means I have to deal with the most poorly designed ethernet slot ever conceived.
I'm ready to restore this to factory and return to sende;, please help.

I am looking at the driver package for a G70-70 for WiFi adapters that would appear to cover several manufactures of WiFi cards all in one download. Sometimes the main lenovo installer does not find the installed hardware correctly. In this case I usually drill down in the file to the folder that corresponds with my hardware and install using the setup.exe program from within that same folder.
If this does not work, I would try a BIOS reset, then check if it will install from the file.

In addition to what CBHedricks have mentioned, the hardware ID that you posted is pointing to the Qualcomm Atheros QCA6164 (NFA345)
Can you try this driver:
Let me know how it goes.

neokenchi- Thanks so much, that appears to have worked.
I still got the "No appropriate driver to be installed" error when running the main setup package, but after running the install on the QC driver itself (and although it froze and crashed halfway through)... I now have wireless..lol
Annoying as hell... I would have probably sent this back if I hadn't gotten it fixed
