G700 wifi 802.11 n issue - windows 10 killed 5ghz connections

2017-01-22, 19:54 PM

Since I had he windows 10 "upgrade" I've not had 5ghz wifi on my g700 laptop.
I've re-installed the drivers, downloaded supposed new ones from the lenovo website, and still no 5ghz is showing up.

Device manager says I have an 802.11n wireless adapter but theres no settings at all in the properties for 5ghz.
My router is kicking out a 5ghz signal, that i can connect my fone to, and the laptop IF i use a 3rd party wifi dongle.
But I want my laptops own hardware to connect.

anyone got any ideas?

Hi th3v1k1ng,

Thanks for posting!

Can you just confirm that you were able to 5G prior to updating Windows?

Hi th3v1k1ng,

So you've attempted to install this driver with no luck? If so, it might be worth uninstalling the driver, reboot your unit and let Windows reinstall it for you.

Let us know how you get on.
