G780 - Dolby Advanced Audio v2 guides and Bluetooth issue

2016-01-26, 13:05 PM

Hello Lenovo

I have a Lenovo G780 laptop.

Can you make a guide to me how to solve the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 issue (it won't start when I upgrade to W8.1 from W8 and W10Home from W8.1) for both W8.1 and W10Home? That would be great. I have searced the forum but I can't find a solution that works.

Also when I upgrade to W8.1 from W8 Bluetooth doesn't work. Shall I install the W8.1 Bluetooth driver for Lenovo G780 in support.lenovo.com or how can I solve it?

Lars

Hi Lvt,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

We are really sorry to hear about the issue you are facing.

First make sure that the Audio driver and the dolby will be in sync.

Open Device Manager

Uninstall the Audio Device under Sound and gaming controllers / Make sure to place a check in the Delete driver software prompt.

Now make sure you don't have any dolby components

Proceed to Control Panel / Programs / Uninstall a Program

                     Uninstall all Dolby Related programs

                             Restart if Prompted

Now install this software driver

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/au200w81.exe

When you install this software it will show you a directory path whre it will extract, Make sure to remember the path

This next step is important

Open the directory path where the Audio driver installer extracted the Audio driver.

Check all the folders inside it and find the Dolby Installers, Install the Dolby either Advanced audio or Digital plus.

and you should now get your Dolby back

Hope this helps

Cheers!

Regards,

Shashi Kumar

Hello Shashi

Thanks for the reply.

Is the guide both for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 Home?

Do you know how I solve the Bluetooth issue I have mention?

Lars

Hi Lars,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Yes. This guides applies for both windows 8.1 & windows 10.

However if Bluetooth not working, you can try the below steps:

  1. Press the Windows ( ) keyC, or swipe in from the right edge of the screen to open your Charms.
  2. Select the Settingscharm, and then click Change PC settings.
  3. Click on PC and devicesand then select Bluetooth.
  4. Move the Bluetooth toggle switch to on.

Click here to download Bluetooth drivers

You can refer to this tread Click here.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

Regards,

Shashi Kumar

Hi Lars,

Please go through this Link for better understanding.

You can also try this:

Go to windows Task Scheduler and disable task named "Dolby".

I hope the above information helps.

Shashi

Re: G780 - Dolby Advanced Audio v2 guides and Bluetooth issue

Hello Shashi

The link describes a solution for Windows 8.1. I need a solution for Dolby Advanced Audio v2 on Windows 10 Home 64-Bit on my Lenovo G780 laptop.

As I mention in my post I also have a problem with the Bluetooth device integrated in my laptop when I have upgraded to Windows 10 Home.

Do Lenovo have solutions for the two issues - Dolby Advanced Audio v2 won´t start when upgrading to Windows 10 Home from Windows 8.1 and Bluetooth can´t find any devices when upgrading to Windows 10 Home from Windows 8.1 - yet? The solution Lenovo have give me to the Dolby issue in another post doesn´t work for Windows 10 Home and either for Windows 8.1. When I have deleted my sound driver from Device Manager and deleted Dolby in Remove programs in controlpanel I install the sound driver from the D partition and that worked in Windows 8.1 but not in 10 Home.

I have deviced not to upgrade to 10 Home before there are solutions to the two issues. Therefore I would be great if you find some solutions for Lenovo G780 laptop.

Regards Lars
