G780 - battery to replace

Good day,

I own a Lenovo G780 with 16gb Ram and a Samsung SSD 759 Evo. The system says that I must change the battery; where can I purchase the right battery? Better, what type of battery is the right one?

Best and thanks,

                                                                                                 davide

P.S. The message the system give to me is the following:

Aufgeladen (100%)

Sie sollten den Akkus austauschen.

Es ist ein Problem mit dem Akku afugetreten. Dies führt möglicherweise dazu, dass der Computer PLÖTZLICH heruntergefahren wird.

######################

Charged (100%)

You must replace the battery.

There is problem with the battery. This can cause that your computer abruptely will shut down. [the translation is mine; I apologize if it sounds strange]

Mod's Edit: System model added to front of Subject line to improve visibility / clarity.

Re: G780 - battery to replace

Hi davidebond  ,

Greetings.

List of battery FRU on the hardware manual (page102 item 17) for the G series but to be exact you may also check from the battery sticker itself or if you have the machine number from the sticker .

Battery are consumable parts that may deteriorate from usage as time passes .

You may run basic battery report to know its actual status.

Update us as it goes.

Regards

Re: G780 - battery to replace

Unfortunately, I have no battery report, since I use windows 7. I found this item in Amazon:

http://www.amazon.de/Lenovo-Essential-B570e-B575e-IdeaPad/dp/B00A8SMBXI?ie=UTF8&keywords=akku%20leno...

It seems to me that it complies the Lenovo requirements; as a matter of fact, it is by Lenovo.

Best,

Re: G780 - battery to replace

Hi davidebond ,

Greetings.

Generating battery report would be almost the same but you can try to follow this guide to check on the battery health.

Do you have the machine number of your laptop so that we can be accurate on getting the ideal battery part number .

You can check on the laptop sticker or get it from here

Just keep your serial number confidential.

Update us.

Regards

Re: G780 - battery to replace

Well. I attach a screenshots of the results. Two usb port go not in standby. The charge on cpu is too high without necessity and the PCI-express management would deactived for incompatibilty with some other programms. What is the next move? Zwischendurch, meanwhile, I purchased the Lenovo battery but I would solve the problem in any case.

Thanks,

Re: G780 - battery to replace

Hi davidebond ,

Just to confirm, from your initial query about the battery all is working ok and you no longer receive the battery warning.

A new issue you have now is with the message PCI\VEN_8086&1E2D and CPU activity.

You can try updating the chipset driver from the support site and see if that helps.

Intel Management Engine Interface for Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) . Lenovo G480 (2184, 2014...

Intel Chipset Driver for Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) . Lenovo G480 (2184, 20149), G580 (218...

Isolate which process or service that is causing it using this guide (step 6) thru the task manager .

You can also check if clean boot would help you lower the CPU activity.

Update us how things go.

Regards

Re: G780 - battery to replace

I cannot install this chipset, since mine is newer.

Thanks,

Re: G780 - battery to replace

Hi davidebond ,

From the device manager , try to uninstall it completely first and install from the support site.

It may be the newer one declared have broken files on it ,

Re: G780 - battery to replace

Hello, I installed all the stuff you suggested, but without result.  In Resource Monitor MsMpEng.exe uses 24% of cpu. For the rest, all is normal. Regarding the message PCI\VEN_8086&1E2D, what must I install from the site?

Thanks and best,

Re: G780 - battery to replace

As a matter of fact, I saw that MsMpEng.exe consumed the most part of cpu. Then, I opened MSE and in Settings, I excluded from the search the file msmpeng.exe in Program Files. Now the cpu is lower. It remains the problem with the battery which I have not solved.

Thanks and best,
