G780 Notebook (M843RGE I3-2370M), Windows 7
Audio Driver: Conexant Audio Driver for Microsoft Windows 7 Version 184.108.40.206 (Smart Audio: 220.127.116.11)
My headphone jack is broken. Repair is too expensive. Instead, I want to redirect the audio signal to the microphone jack.
This seems not to be possible with my SmartAudio interface (Screenshot below). But I found a screenshot of exactly the function I need called "Jack Configuration" in the Help section (second screenshot below). It looks like I dont have the right system configuration (whatever that means, I'm not an IT/PC expert ...) to use this feature.
Is there any way I can reconfigure the audio jacks on my notebook? Do I need another Conexant Audio Driver software and if yes, which one?
I'm grateful for any helpful reaction!

reassigning the microphone input jack to work as headphone output jack might not be possible
with all sound cards,
a quick & dirty solution to your problem would be the use a cheap USB Sound Card,
I've tested this -3D-Sound- model with my Y560p and U310 laptops and had very satisfying results...
more USB Sound Cards...

Hello Zehnsteine, thanks for replying.
Plugging in a USB Sound Card works, but that was just what I was trying to avoid ... I hoped there was a smoother solution.
