Hello Sid352

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Does this happen with every single headphone that you are trying to use?

What model is your laptop?

Let us know how you get on.

Playback Devices under Sound Properties (by going to Control Panel (large icon view) > Sound > Playback Devices) and see if the Headphone is being set as the default playback device. If not, click on it and set it as the default playback device, try to play a sample sound and observe.

There is usually a hardware switch in the socket, which is engaged when you put the plug in. Seems like it might be mechanically broken.

Update us how it goes.

I had the same and  they replaced the mainboard in warranty time ( i had just some days left on the warranty). mind that they will also restore the original image so make a backup of your harddisk and contents.

in my case they also replaced the mainboard without the AMD chipset on it. ergo i have only the intel one present. of course warranty is now over so i am
