Help making a new backup of Windows 10 on a G51-35

I’m wondering how can I make a backup media of Windows 10 only, so that I can use the backup on a new hard drive? I know I can make a backup with the system restore, but I want to get a new hard drive and make a fresh install with no Lenovo software except the drivers for the computer. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance.

Hi ernstlu ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

On a new harddrive and starting fresh with Windows 10 without any other applications would be a clean installation . After which you can download and install needed drivers from support.lenovo.com .

This article would guide you , specifically on "Use installation media to reinstall Windows" (bottom part) .

The product key is tied to the motherboard (OEM). On a previous activated Windows version on similar motherboard , activation goes automatically as it was already in the microsoft server .

Using media creation tool would be handy.

Hope this help answer your query.
