How to make lenovo gX70 fans working correctly ? by fixing BIOS (temp sensor) ACPI DSDT etc

2013-08-11, 11:00 AM

How to fix lenovo gX70 BIOS to support temps sensor and makes the fan working correctly ?

Hi,

I decicided to open a new thread, since the info is shared among different ones

and with misleading title ....

Note: I may update this thread later

So, to make share it short :

lenovo gX70 ( g470 or g570 and maybe others) are shipped with a bios

that does not support thermal sensor ( always the same value )

this is making the fan acting crazy...

But the problem could be partialy fixed on GNU/Linux by patching BIOS DSDT table as explained over there :

http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-3000-and-Essential/Replacing-G570-fan/td-p/406891/page/8

we wish this fix to be delivered in a bios update ... but how to request it ?

This issue was tried to be reported several time :

So any efforts to contact the right persons at lenovo are welcome :

I can provide more info just request it

Regards

PS: Please "kudos/star" this thread if you feed it should get popularity and hope things will happend ...
