I would like to move all files from drive D to drive C on a B50-70. Can I safely do that?
Do I need to close all programs running to do that transfer?
There are only 2 folders in drive D:
Drivers and Applications
D drive size is 26GB
C is the larger drive
D drive is named Lenovo; seems it was shipped this way.

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
I think that is where either the recovery is, or the OS itself, so you can`t really move that around unless you re-install and re-format the drive.
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Are you sure its where the recovery partition resides because Lenovo D is labelled "primary partition"?
There are two other recovery paritions according to windows disk management
one is 1000MB and labelled Recovery Partition and it appears as the first partition. There is also another partition right at the end and this is 14GB and also labelled Recovery Partition. Why are these two labelled recovery partitions and the one you say is recovery partition labelled as primary?
Given the above, can I still safely move everything out of Lenovo D drive to Windows8_OS C drive? I plan to delete Lenovo D after moving the files out of Lenovo D.

Lenovo (D) contains two folders:
The computer was shipped this way and I haven't touched D drive since purchase.
I would like to move them to Windows8_OS (C) from Lenovo (D). Where should I park the two folders within Windows8_OS (C) ?
