Is a 2,4MB/sec speed in a wi fi ad-hoc mode normal for G-410m-mm?

2008-10-23, 20:58 PM

Hello!

Is a 2,4MB/sec speed normal for copying a 20gb file from a Vista x64 with Zyxel G-202 EE to G410m-mm through a wi fi in ad-hoc mode? Why is the 2,75MB/sec speed in the oposite direction higher?

Regards,

Dmitry

Try manually restrict WiFi adapter to use G-mode or A-mode and disallow speed decrease on low signal.

Also check whether another device you're trying to connect supports A/G mode.

Also it may happen that speed is lowered to rise the stability of connection.

Thanks skripatch for suggesting!

There is only "Fragmentation Threshold" which is 2346 and can be lower; "Locally Administeted MAC Address" which is "Not Present"; "RTS Threshold" which is 2347 and can be lower and the "Rate" which does not help; on the "Advanced" tab in the Adapter Properties.

How to do what you suggested?

Regards,

Dmitry
