Is there a known upgrade of B560 to support the 5GHz wifi?

2017-07-07, 9:15 AM

Hi

I already red a post from 2013. Is there meanwhile any experience with an upgrade of a B560 to support the 5GHz wifi?

Hi ozrenac

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Similar to the previous post, there is no verified AC 5GHz WLAN card that got past the BIOS whitelist as provided from the hardware manual listed OEM parts (item 14 page 73). Overview specification still is Intel 802.11 a/b/g/n & WiMax combo support as personally, I don't think the BIOS would soon be changed for this.

A better alternative that you can manage with maybe using a USB AC WLAN card adapter, although it would cosmetically be sticking out would still give the functionality speed you would need.

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards
