Lenovo B490 Upgrade

Hi..
I have a Lenovo B490 37722QP (Intel Celeron 1000M, 4GB DDR3 1600Mhz , HD 500GB, Windows 8.1)

Chipset : HM77

My question is:

in my system says it supports 16gb of ram, it is true?

Another question:
I want to upgrade processor, what better processor that it supports ?

Your options for Memory and CPU upgrades are listed in your Maintenance Manual.  According to that document, your notebook has 2 slots for memory sticks, and is limited to 4gb maximum per stick for a total of 8gb.  You can try to use larger, but it is not guaranteed to work.  Also - you have options for CPU upgrades, but I strongly advise that you download and read the portions pertaining to the Processor Removal and Replacement before you take on the project.

Cheers.

Re: Lenovo B490 Upgrade

It depends on the how you use your notebook...  IE - Gaming, Office, Entertianment

I have a G580 with the i3 2350 chip and it does Office and Entertaiment well, but is not a gamer.  That is fine with me as I do not use a notebook to play games on - other than cheap facebook stuff (grin).

If you are trying to stay on a budget the Intel I3-2370M would be a good upgrade, and perform much better than the celeron.

Cheers.
