Lenovo B50-30 Lenovo logo screen freeze

2015-06-06, 9:57 AM

Hi!

We bought yesterday a Lenovo B50-30 type notebook. I want install Windows 8.1 on it, but during the setup I was not able to create partition. So I enter to BIOS settings with Fn+F2 If I remember well. In the BIOS I check the settings, then I change SATA settings from AHCI to Compatible then I save changes and exit from BIOS setup. After that notebook froze down when the Lenovo logo screen is up. I can't enter the BIOS setup and the notebook don't boot the operating system disk, I can only see the Lenovo logo. I tried to start the notebook with the one key recovery button, but it doesn't work, the screen doesn't appear when i can choose the BIOS setup menu, only the Lenovo logo appear, then the notebook doesn't do anything.

What should i do? Thanks for your helping.

Sorry for the bad english I don't speak it well.

Hi Tomi17,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Try this one first/

  1. Remove the AC adapter and Battery.
  2. Hold the Power Button down for 15 sec.
  3. Connect only the AC adapter
  4. Turn the computer ON and start tapping F2 this should boot you to BIOS.

Hope this helps

Cheers!

Hi,

I HAD (yes I solved it :smileyvery-happy: ) same problem.

I just bought my brand new lenovo B50-30, tried to install OS and changed in BIO S sata mode from AHCI to Comaptibility. Saved changes and Lenovo logo stucks!

I tried advice from Tomi but it has no result. I already saw myself taking laptop 5h old  to service when I found this post

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-B-and-G-Series-Notebooks/Lenovo-B50-30-Lenovo-logo-screen/m-p/1804597

SOLUTION: Insert some usb stick (I put win7 bootable) in usb port and reboot. No more lenovo logo and I was able to enter BIOS and change settings back to AHCI.

For lenovo engineers this is such shame. BIOS do not continue if it can not recognize hdd?

Regards from Serbia.
