Lenovo B50 30 ram issue

Dear Lenovo,

I wanted to upgrade my laptop from 2gb of ram to 4gb.

I bought Kingston valuram and put it inside the laptop. I first removed the 2gb and put the 4gb instead.

When I power on the laptop the screen stays black. There is no other activity apart from the on/off switch staying powered.

I've read on the forum that there might be issues with the power of the ram. The kingston ram is 1.5v whereas the laptop original ram is 1.35v.

Can you please confirm this? This way I know for sure which memory to buy.

The serial number is: CB32024752

Hope to hear soon.

Kind regards,

Karic

Re: Lenovo B50 30 ram issue

Hi Karic,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Yes, This model supports Low powered RAM indicated as DDR3L

This is one of the default RAM of this model

HYN HMT451S6AFR8A-PB DDR3L 1600 4GB

If youll buy another RAM make sure it runs at 1600 and it is a DDR3L

Check this one as reference
