Lenovo B560 battery "plugged in, not charging"

2013-03-26, 14:11 PM

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone's doing fine.

Anyways, I've been having battery troubles with my laptop which has the specs:

Lenovo B560

Core i3 370M

Bios - 39CN16WW

RAM - 4GB

Windows 7 - 32bit

Now, the issue is that the original battery which came with the laptop is done with...I mean if I unplug the laptop, it takes just a couple of minutes and the battery drains out. I have been searching for the battery in the market and I did find some but now when I connect the "new" battery, I get "plugged in, not charging" when I hover over the "battery" icon in the tray.

I went through the details on the sticker of both the original battery as well as the new one and the only difference I found was that mine said "48000" where the other one says "44000"...Can that be the reason behind this problem? Also, I cannot find the battery with 48000 in the market or online.

Can anybody please shed some light on this? I did try the method of turning off the laptop, removing the power cable and battery and pressing the power button for a couple of seconds. That didn't work either.

Thanks,

Abdullah

Try to release charge, - turn off the computer, remove AC adaptor and battery. Press and hold power button for 15-30 seconds, and power on the machine again.
Also you can try reinstal energy management driver.

Hello Olix,

As I explained, I did try the "release charge" method but I will try it again.

Also, what exactly do you mean by "Energy Mgmt. driver"...if you mean the Lenovo Power Mgmt. software then I have already uninstalled it. Where do I find the Energy Mgmt. driver in Device mgr.

Thanks,
Abdullah
