Lenovo B570 laptop/notebook works in safe mode

Hi to all

Ok here's the problem I was given this to see if I could fix it the first thing I noticed is that the hard drive was bad I tried to reformat it but that turned out to be a no go so I got a new drive in installed windows 7 on it put in the computer booted up fine then about 2 minutes in it got stuck but booted up in safe mode seems work good.

My question is where do I look to find out what's missing so I can get this working again or do I just make a driver disk?

Re: Lenovo B570 laptop/notebook works in safe mode

Hi Albee9 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Check if all drivers for your system are installed/updated fro the support site.

Try to start from the chipsets then display and video , networking, storage , OS installation and update then all others as needed.  Restart may be needed after each driver installation so downloading first would be handy.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: Lenovo B570 laptop/notebook works in safe mode

Thank you for your reply.
I have installed all the drivers still won't boot up in normal mode just gets stuck after windows comes up but runs fine in safe mode and I can't update the bios in safe mode.
Is there a way I can reflash the bios from dos or the command prompt?

Re: Lenovo B570 laptop/notebook works in safe mode

Hi Albee9 ,

Greetings.

Did the machine got stuck without installing any drivers , the first time?

Are you using the Windows 7 install OEM disc from Lenovo ?

You can try to clean boot the machine to further isolate which software / driver is causing this.

Alternatively , what I usually do is run the machine on a USB live image to check if the system would have the same issue.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: Lenovo B570 laptop/notebook works in safe mode

Hi Albee9  ,

Would you have the same SATA hard drive as the original?

Try to check the BIOS if setting to change SATA controller under configuration tab.

Then F10 to save and exit.

If the same issue, reload defaults F9 then f10.

To proceed further, we can manually uninstall one driver at a time then restart to isolate which driver causing this starting with the display and then other USB controllers.

Regards

Re: Lenovo B570 laptop/notebook works in safe mode

Hi spidey101

Yes, I already tried that before I came here for help.

Can I do that one by one driver in the clean boot?
