Lenovo G40-30 charging but stays at zero percent

So my 2 year old Lenovo laptop has been stuck charging at 0% percent for some reason lately and I don't know how to fix this. I looked up and tried many solutions that I could find but many of them didn't worked.  How do you really fix this? By the way,  I can't use my laptop without charging or else it will shut down.

Re: Lenovo G40-30 charging but stays at zero percent

Hi Kang_Fu!

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If the battery is not charging anymore and your laptop is shutting down once the charger is unplugged, it could only mean that it is already defective. However, try to do a power drain by removing all connected devices (ac adapter, USB flash drive, etc.), shut it down and hold down the power button for 60 seconds. Turn it back on after a few minutes and observe. If same issue, try to use a different compatible battery (if available).
