Lenovo G40-30 won't boot, only blinks the two leds

Hi everyone, recently my lenovo G40-30 won't power up, so I did the power drain I saw online it didn't work. I had to check if the AC adapter and battery are okay, so I tried them with a friend's laptop and the battery is 100% charged and the AC adapter is working perfectly.

Whenever I remove the battery and insert it back the system will come on without me pressing the power button, it will display the LENOVO logo and the next screen then go off on it's own and the power on and battery indicator LEDs will start blinking. I have gone through most of the problem associated with G40-30 and none is with this problem.

So please I will appreciate every help from the forum.

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.


Sounds like this will be an issue with the mainboard in this case, perhaps just a connection on the inside.

 

Just try to see if you are able to start up the unit using the NOVO button, I believe it will be one the side of the unit, with a small curved arrow next to it.

 

See if this can get you into the recovery menu at all, if so, then I would recommend that you attempt to reset the unit back to factory settings, and see if this is able to help at all.

 

If the unit does not turn on still, then I would recommend that you get in touch with your local lenovo support line for a possible repair on the unit.

Thanks for your support, my G40-30 only has one button which is the power button, there I'd nothing like NOVO button. I have also tried it with just the AC adaptor (without battery) to see if it will work but it didn't only when I remove the battery and insert it, it comes on by itself. And turn off when it tries to boot. Then the LEDs starts blinking

Thanks, I have seen the button and when I pressed the button, the same thing happened. Really don't know what to do anymore

You need to speak with customer service on the phone to look up warranty status and discuss repair or replacement options.
