Lenovo G400 bluescreen at shutdown

Help!

Why my g400 always bluescreen when shutdown or boot up? The bluescreen message is "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (atikmpag.sys)" or "DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER". And, after the bluescreen, AMD driver and hardware not detected in device manager and in dxdiag, approx. total memory only 1gb, the original is 2gb. Its solved when I reset bios to default setting, but, when I shutdown again, its bluescreen again. Why this is happening? now my laptop can hibernate only if I dont want to bluescreen.

Welcome to the Forums  

 

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with blue screen error in your Lenovo G400 laptop.

 

Try to reseat the CMOS battery and check for the issue, also try to reseat the RAM and check for the issue. If the system is under warranty do not open the system, if not please refer the manual and reseat.

Do you mean I must change my BIOS battery? Because, the battery now just 2.4V, originally, it's 3V right?

Hi FadhfirasiV,

 

No do not replace the battery just remove the CMOS battery and insert it again and check for the issue, am talking about the same 2.4v battery not the new battery.
