I just bought Lenovo G400s notebook last day , i would like to use the standard F1-F12 key in some application/ software. The problem is that instead of just pressing F2 I have to now press and hold the Fn key + F2. Is there a way to switch back to standard key just like the software for usb slim keyboard? I checked my BIOS there are no option to switch Fn Key or hotkey mode, Fn Key Lock option under the Configuration tab. Any solution can solve my problem?
Thanks

Thanks for reply
1. i almost read all similar thread and most of them have a solution which is enter BIOS configuration and disable hotkey action / enable... and also SharpKeys/SoftKeys cant really remap all the key.
2. on Lenovo Support site ,there are no Windows 8 Driver and Software for G400s
i really wish they provide a bios update and also update the Windows 8 driver and software for G400s
i think that's the best solution if Lenovo technician provide a bios update for this model

Yes, very disappointing that no hotkeys enable/disable in BIOS. It should added to all BIOS. And let user to choose whether to enable/disable it. st Very frustating.
I'm just bought a Lenovo G400s.
And the hot keys is swapped. When I wan to press F2. I need to press "Fn+F2"
For some people by default for multimedia maybe is useful, but for myself is very annoying feature.
In my older, Thinkpad Edge, there is a setting in BIOS for disabling hotkeys. But unfortunately there's no in my laptop.
Hope Lenovo can add it in BIOS level.
So I can keep continuing using Lenovo as my favorite laptop brand
I'm using Lenovo G400s
With Linux openSUSE 12.x

This serious feature must make known to developer.
We demand a BIOS update to this feature, not everyone should be locked to multimedia keys.
I'm doing multi-tasking and productivity programs and use lots of those function keys, I'm seriously need this to be fix ASAP or else I might considering another brand.
