Lenovo G450 constant freeze

Long post warning.

So since 3 weeks ago when I'm on chrome I'd get a plug in fail, then my windows (everything bUT cursor) would freeze up for 10 minutes.
I'd tried disabling and enabling various flashes on chrome but nothing fixed the problem.

Since last week my laptop was very slow on startup, it'd also freeze on the startup window. 10 mins later it'd unfreeze, I then try to open something and the whole thing would freeze again!

I've tried:
-reinstalling chrome
-Turning all but microsoft services off at start up using msconfig
-uninstalling unused applications (that took hours cos it kept freezing)
-disk checks/defrag
-ran anti virus check
-cleaned out the dust in the fan

I should mention that I'm on windows 7 x64, 4Gb ram (any specs i should add?) also the fact that the pc starts fine in safe mode and safe mode with network. I also don't know what I've done with the cd that came with the laptop.

I'm at my wits end with the waiting for it to u freeze only to refreeze.

Can my laptop be fixed or has my hard disk completely given up? I appreciate any help given. Thank you!!

Re: Lenovo G450 constant freeze

If it works perfectly in Safe mode it doesn't sound like a hardware issue. Did you try to see the system log for errors?

Did you update the drivers recently or insert a new hardware?

Re: Lenovo G450 constant freeze

Hiya, thanks for both replies ... I have downloaded the tool and ran a diagnostics.. no hardware problems..

Unfortunately the freezing persists and actually it's worse. My laptop stays a dark screen after the windows icon when I switch it on. It stays on the welcome screen for a long time after entering my password and it freezes when the desktop finally shows...

Then if I want to use the Internet it freezes after loading a page or two...

Do you think if I took it to a repair shop to reinstall the operating system my laptop would function normally again?? I really can't afford a new laptop right now...

Thanks again for your time and any advice!

Just now when I switched my laptop on it got to the password stage quite smoothly, but after entering the password I didn't even see the normal welcome loading screen, this time it was a black screen and it took forever to get to my desktop.
But I did notice that my laptop goes completely quiet like it's gone to sleep, then it randomly wakes up (you can hear the normal clicking, laptop noise) and it loads again. And now it's quiet again.

It's as if my laptop has narcolepsy. As I'm typing g this update it's frozen again... because I tried to open chrome. It should respond in 10 mines or so... Smiley Sad

Also is it possible to have 2 problems? Cos sometimes when my laptop may not respond for 10mins but the clock on task bar would still work whereas sometimes it freezes completely that my clock's tome freezes too.

Re: Lenovo G5070 constant freeze

hey, i have this EXACT same problem with my lenovo g5070 running win 10. All the symptoms described in this thread are evident:

freezing intermittently, especially when launching OS (at account log-in),

almost no running noises, then suddenly noisy with ordinary hdd clikcing noises, including fan noises,

and has refused restoring, resetting (but with saving personal files only since i have sensitive data that i regrettably didn't back up), disk-checking hangs forever, then says no errors,

safe mode also works fine throughout

please please help!!!

What's DOS?
