Lenovo G50-45 80E3 RAM memory

Hello.

I own Lenovo G50-45 80E3 and I want to upgrade RAM memory.

Currently I have 4GB in one slot, and I want to add 8GB more in another one.

I just want to ask is it possible to put 2 cards form the same manufacturer with different capacities (4GB in one slot and 8GB in another)?

I want to order this kind of memory:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Samsung-8GB-PC3L-12800-DDR3-1600mhz-SoDimm-1-35V-204pin-Laptop-Memory-/3...

I have absolutely the same type with 4GB in another slot.

Thank You.

Re: Lenovo G50-45 80E3 RAM memory

Hi Vaskoboris,

Welcome to the Forums

As per the query we understood that you are looking for memory upgrade in your Lenovo G50-45 laptop.

As per the specification of this model it supports upto 16gb DDR3L memory, i.e it uses 1.35v and also the frequency of both memory sticks  should be matching.

The RAM details shared by you supports  the upgrade, but the frequency (e.g 1600mhz  or 1300mhz ) of the other RAM should  be same as this memory.

Hope this helps. Do post back if the issue persists.

Best regards,

Re: Lenovo G50-45 80E3 RAM memory

Hello i have the same notebook and the user manual says:

RAM: DDR3L, 1600MT/s MAX 1 DIMM
DDR3L, 1333MT/s MAX 2 DIMM

I'm a bit confused.

It means that if the memory speed i will buy is 1600mt/s, i'm able to use only one DIMM?

Re: Lenovo G50-45 80E3 RAM memory

Use this memory upgrade tool from Crucial to find the right memory for your laptop, get the correct specs from Crucial page and buy any brand of similar specs, preferably a cheap one as all of them work well.

Re: Lenovo G50-45 80E3 RAM memory

Welcome to the Lenovo Community ioanna19931 !

"Hello i have the same notebook and the user manual says:

RAM: DDR3L, 1600MT/s MAX 1 DIMM
DDR3L, 1333MT/s MAX 2 DIMM"

What that means is that some G50 models had only one memory slot while others had two available.  A simple way to check is to just remove the back cover and look to see how many you have. Either way you can use 1600 MT/s memory for both as the 1600 MT/s memory will only run as fast as the memory slot supports.

Edit: In addition, each memory slot can support up to 8 GBs of memory.  So if you have two memory slots available you can have a total of 16 GBs of memory installed.
