Lenovo G50-45 dvd

Hello all and happy new year!

I have just bought a new Lenovo G50-45 and I can't seem to find how to open the DVD tray.

I may sound really stupid, but I have been searching for a couple of hours.

I know it is on the right handside. I am pressing it, but it soes not open.

Can someone help?

Thnk you in advance!

Re: Lenovo G50-45 dvd

hi elenikark,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums and happy new year to you too!

The DVD drive on the G50-45 has the standard 'push-to-eject' button for the DVD tray to come out. If this doesn't work, can you try right clicking on the DVD icon under Windows Explorer and click Eject or use a paperclip and pinch the pinhole to eject the tray.

Re: Lenovo G50-45 dvd

Hi!
There is no dvd eject button on it. In fact none of the little images on
the right or a pinhole exist.
When I go to explorer, there is no dvd sign either.

Is it possible that there is not a dvd?

Re: Lenovo G50-45 dvd

hi elenikark,

If you don't see any buttons similar to the picture above then It's possible that you got no DVd drive and what you see is only a dummy DVD bracket (ACLU1 Dummy ODD - Part#: 90205226).

To check, can you provide the machine type model (eg. 59421808 or 80E300GYIN).

Regards

Re: Lenovo G50-45 dvd

Hey yeah, there is a button there, it's just hard to get too with fingers as fat as mine are. Took me a while to get the right way to do it.

Re: Lenovo G50-45 dvd

I have the same problem, and since I can't see any buttons on mine, I am wondering if that means I don't have a dvd-player? My model name is 80E3.

Thankful for respons!

Re: Lenovo G50-45 dvd

Hi,

When I read you post, I checked out mine too. I pressed the button several times and nothing. Then I took my thumb nail because it is longer than the nails and pressed it in and it worked!  Hope this helps, if you havent already tried it.

Hi,

I have the same problem and my model is G50-80. I cannot seem to locate dvd eject button or a pinhole on the side.
and when I go to windows explorer, there is no dvd sign either.
