Lenovo G50-70 Graphics

2014-10-02, 6:01 AM

Hi,

I have recently bought a G50-70 (i7) which comes with the intel HD 4400 and the R5 M230. I've found that there is no way to disable the discrete/integrated graphics at a time. So does this mean that both are powered on at the same time? Also, is it okay if I update my drivers to the latest AMD and intel drivers available? Or is it recommended I use only the lenovo ones?

Thanks,
Best regards,

David

It is recommended using the lenovo drivers, Both the GPU's are not powered up at all the time, your Integrated GPU is the one which is powered all the time, the Descrete just handles the GPU intensive tasks, like gaming. Once that application is fired up as per configuration, the discrete will automatically start processing the game instead of the integrated
