Re: Lenovo G50-70 Screen Display Problem

Hi Realcoder,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Did you have a chance to test the laptop with an external monitor attached to the VGA port? Can you get video on the external monitor?

First of all, I would check memory modules. It’s possible that one of the modules failed.
1. Try reconnecting memory modules. Remove them from the motherboard and install back in.
2. Test your laptop with each module installed separately. If one of them is faulty, the laptop will start when the bad module is removed.

Also, check the connectors inside to see if any have come loose.

This Maintenance Manual should guide on how to get into the memory modules.

Regards,

Shashi

Re: Lenovo G50-70 Screen Display Problem

I am facing somewhat similar issue since last two weeks and my laptop is no more under warranty.

Whenever I hit the power button, the screen blinks for a minute to sometimes upto 5 minutes before I see "Lenovo" on the screen. It just does not boot all that time. Once it is on, there are no issues.  Please check the video to understand the issue and help me with the solution.

Re: Lenovo G50-70 Screen Display Problem

Hi Shashi
Thanks for reply
Actually Here i want to tell you one more thing what i missed earlier that it also happen when i close my laptop LID & laptop go to sleep mood. And when I open the LID for waking up the laptop from sleep mood lights turn on but laptop no more work Display remains black & in the same situation I also tried HDMI cable with my TV but no connection was showing (actually first this problem happening in this mood after that now its also happening at the time of laptop starting ).. It shows like it’s not only screen problem because just realize whenever laptop properly go on laptop keyboard Light also blink but when screen remain black & laptop power lights go on that time keyboard lights don't blink. Well come to final that means its not only screen problem or may be its not screen problem 

What you suggest me in this case

Re: Lenovo G50-70 Screen Display Problem

Hi Realcoder,

Can you try turning ON or OFF the Hybrid Sleep? Here's how you'll get to the settings, Open your Lenovo Energy management and turn off the Hard Drive power Saver option.

Do the same for keyboard as well.

In addition to this, when you put the computer to sleep, is the power button blinking?

Link to picture

If not, this is probably the reason why the machine is not waking up from sleep because it's not asleep in the first place. In this case, reboot the machine, perform a clean boot and observe (this is to isolate any processes running in the background that's possibly interfering with the sleep process).

Other things that you can try:

  1. Check this Recommended Settings for Sleep
  2. Turn off Fast Startup

I hope the above information helps.

Regards,

Shashi

Re: Lenovo G50-70 Screen Display Problem

Well coming to your power light blinking option Yes Its blinking whenever turning it to sleep but when open LID back even it stop blinking both lights go stable but i got nothing after that & i have to restart.

& further I'll give try to your HYBIRD SLEEP OPTION & revert you back later.

But do you think Disabling the options of HardDisk & keyboard HYBIRD SLEEP Mode wil work in case where I am facing the same problem when I Go for power on my laptop when laptop is completely OFF

Re: Lenovo G50-70 Screen Display Problem

Hi Realcoder,

Yes. Hybrid sleep is a combination of sleep and hibernate—it puts any open documents and programs in memory and on your hard disk, and then puts your computer into a low-power state so that you can quickly resume your work. That way, if a power failure occurs, Windows can restore your work from your hard disk.

I hope the above information helps.

Shashi

Re: Lenovo G50-70 Screen Display Problem

Hi Devangs,

If your laptop is G50-80, this Maintenance Manual should guide on how to get into the internal modules. Please re-seat the hard disk & swap the Ram with different slots & try if it boots to BIOS.

Hope this helps. Let me know your findings.

Shashi
