I have a Lenovo G500 with an I7-3632QM and I run into some problems with the USB controlers when the Linux is loading. The USB ports work but these messages slow down the boot process.
For information the "USB Legacy" is disabled in the BIOS.
$ dmesg [ 2.436663] pci 0000:00:1a.0: EHCI: BIOS handoff failed (BIOS bug?) 01010001 [ 3.769960] pci 0000:00:1d.0: EHCI: BIOS handoff failed (BIOS bug?) 01010001 $ lspci | grep -E "00:1[a|d].0" 00:1a.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 7 Series/C210 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller #2 (rev 04) 00:1d.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 7 Series/C210 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller #1 (rev 04) $ dmesg | grep DMI: [ 0.000000] DMI: LENOVO 20236/INVALID, BIOS 78CN25WW(V2.03) 11/19/2013
As you can see the last BIOS update is here.
What is the problem? Do you plan to solve it?
Thanks in advance for future answers...
