Hi! I just bought a Lenovo G500S Touch laptop (from a retailer--it apparently debuts on the website in two weeks) and I love everything about it (except the OS--Windows 8 is weird). One particular issue bothers me--I was using the touchscreen to navigate the laptop, mostly going between Internet browsers on Desktop and Start, and at some point I realized that my cursor had disappeared. Clicking Ctrl on Desktop shows me where the cursor is supposed to be (concentric rings and such), but (1) the cursor doesn't appear after that, and (2) moving my finger about the touchPAD (below the keyboard) doesn't seem to move the cursor either. Since this is a touchscreen laptop, the lost cursor isn't quite as crippling as it could be, but how do I get it back? For now, I have my laptop turned off and will reply if it doesn't disappear on the second startup.
Really minor issue; doesn't need to be solved--How do you use Internet browsers on a touchscreen laptop to slide up and down a page without highlighting everything in your path?
Thanks for helping me out!

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
First try opening Device Manager and Uninstall these
under Category mice and game controllers
Uninstall Synaptics, or ELAN and make sure to put a check under delete driver software then hit ok
do the same under category display adapter
uninstall Nvidia and intel and place a check under delete driver software
Now Restart the computer and try downloading and installing these
Touchpad Driver (Synaptics, Elan) for 32 and 64 bit
Choose what type of Windows you have here (make sure to check what type of windows you have 64 or 32 bit)
Intel VGA Driver
Install these and restart the system See if that'll work with the cursor problem

Rebooting seems to have given me my cursor back. Now it's just jittery, opening things it shouldn't, highlighting things it shouldn't, drawing boxes on Desktop where it shouldn't... etc, etc. I really don't want to use it right now when it's such an unreliable way of controlling compared to the screen. In the meantime, I just replaced the driver with the one you linked me to and will update later with the results.
EDIT: After installing the first link (Elantech...) I got a notice saying "No Appropriate Driver to be Installed." ???
