Lenovo G51 crashing during gameplay?

2016-06-22, 18:42 PM

I bought a Lenovo G51 back in March to play games, and I could swear it is well in the realm to play them, it is 8GB RAM, AMD A8-7410 with Radeon R5 graphics and 1GB VRAM and the 900~GB HDD can go up to 2.2 GHz, I swear it's in the realms to play games like GTA V and Fallout 4, but it crashes all the time, so I just figured I may have to wait for a new comp, but I recently tried to play Guild Wars 2 which is a much less demanding game, and it gave me the same stupid messages when it crashes, usually along the the lines of Graphics Driver has stopped responding and recovered or game.exe has been blocked from accessing Graphics Driver, any help would be very well appreciated and I'll give any extra info I can if requested.

Hi there, Hundred -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

When you said the games crash, do you get any specific error message when they don't work or they suddenly closes out without any errors?

Other options that you can try is to:

  1. Set the power settings to high performance
  2. Configure Nvidia Control Panel's "Power management mode" from Adaptive to Maximum Performance - see guide here
  3. Run the game using Nvidia Graphics Processor (right click on the game > choose Run with graphics processor and choose Nvidia).

Update us how it goes.

It either gives me no error message or it says, "Graphics Driver has stopped responding and recovered" or "'game'.exe has been blocked from accessing Graphics Driver".

Also in response to your suggestions it doesn't have Nvidia it has AMD

Please go through this link for better understanding. Also, try performing Lenovo diagnostic from Lenovo solution center for any hardware errors.
