I am looking to upgrade the graphics card of my laptop (Lenovo G510 type 80A8) from the intel integrated graphics to something like 1 Gb size graphic card in order to play computer games. Is it possible and how to achieve it? What information do I need to gather? Thank you.

Hi there, Sciencespirit -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.
No, you can't upgrade it. Generally laptops can't be upgraded like that due to the chip being soldered onto the board. I believe this is not possible without replacing the motherboard. The Discrete VGA s soldered in the motherboard while the integrated is riding in the CPU. Replacing the Mainboard with a discrete VGA in it may make it happen.
I don't actually recommend this because the cost of the new motherboard is not that value with the amount of GPU increase you may achieve.
Also, as per the HMM, you can upgrade your gpu up to AMD Radeon™ HD8750M 2GB graphics
Update us how it goes.
